iPhone Application Development

Underlying the explosive growth of the iPhone as a mobile computing platform is the reality that certain kinds of activities are more appropriately performed on an iPhone than a computer connected to the internet. For example, you’re stuck in an airport waiting for a delayed flight and realize you’ll need to rent a car. Download the handy Hertz or Avis application and within minutes you’re car is reserved. Unfortunately for Enterprise or National, they don’t have iPhone apps available so they will lose the sale. In many case, companies might find that an iPhone app is as important or more than their website. The good news is that iPhone apps can be built for a fraction of the cost of a professional website.

Travel is just one category where the iPhone usage is likely to surpass web usage, especially for last minute purchases. The personal health and fitness category is booming with a flurry of apps for tracking workouts and diets. iPhone users are discovering that the device is perfect for late night reading when turning on the light to flipping pages will annoy a light sleeping partner.

As experienced iPhone users know, the user experience of a well designed iPhone app is completely different than using the web through a browser. The better apps take full advantage of the unique properties of the iPhone device like GPS capabilities, sound, motion, and image recognition, and much more. It’s quite important that the app be designed to that it is self contained and does not require a visit to the web through a browser to complete a transaction.

iPhoneDevShop launched in September, 2009 with a dedicated team of designer and developers focused on building iPhone applications. Our award-winning design and development group has been building websites, landing pages, e-mail marketing campaigns, widgets, social networking properties, content management systems for some of the best brands in America.

Our development process begins with a project definition phase which involves the analysis of existing sites, user interviews, competitor reviews, and brainstorming sessions. We outline the project schedule, mutually understand project goals, expand on requirements, develop high-level architecture, and define both functional and technical requirements. The design phase encompasses the creation of final architecture, design look and feel, and technical architecture. Custom branding materials and assets may also be part of the process. We create Information Architecture and Design Photoshop files to assure a complete and consistent user experience.

During the development phase we implement all designs. This includes front-end production, development environment set-up, creation of custom code, documentation of implementation process, and data transfer including built in analytics and tracking. We also architect and build a full database schema for registered users, including login, registration, forgotten password resolution, permissions and workflow for logged in / logged out site and content access.

Deploy

The deployment phase encompasses pre- and post-launch. During this phase, we conduct quality assurance testing and submit the new application to Apple for approval [our experience is that we can have new applications approved and operational within two weeks].

As optional services, we work with our parent company, www.Resoluted.com, to execute an iPhone online marketing strategy to drive iPhone users to your new application and to build ratings so that the application is listing at the top of its relevant category.
