Pocket God, that is - and LOVES it. He calls it “aliens” and begs for my iPhone regularly - then basically drowns pygmies till he exits the app and I just hope he doesn’t send e-mails to clients which auto-complete to something that gets us fired. Which begs the question - are iPhone Apps appropriate for children?

We certainly hope so as we’re near-complete on building a child development application for our most-dear client - Meredith Corporation. This application has real educational value, great design, robust functionality and the help of many developmental experts behind it (more appropriate than pygmy drowning and hands-down above everything else on the iPhone App market geared towards kids)

Our client didn’t skimp out. They’ve planned, and we’ve built, an application that allows for multiple levels of children’s age and interaction - from babies - with simple flash cards and audio representing the alphabet and images associated with each letter. Infants - allowing the child to interact with the application identifying letters, colors, and shapes with audio and visual congratulatory messages. Children - prompting the child to trace - with their finger, letters, numbers, and shapes and be rewarded along the way.

This app could entertain children for a LONG time - we hope - and will allow parents some piece-of-mind along the way.
